Coach David Yi Wins National Free-style Wrestling Tournament

David Yi, who coaches at Folsom High School and with the Mad Dawg Wrestling Club, won his second consecutive National Free-style Wrestling Tournament held in Las Vegas from April 26-April 29. Yi competed in the Masters Division at 63 kilos or about 138 pounds. Yi went undefeated in four free-style wrestling matches. His most competitive match was against an athlete from Russia and who has been training with the Chicago Wrestling Club with the name of Aleksandr Serebinnikov. Yi won that match 6-0. In his three other bouts, Yi had technical falls over Alesio Velasquez of the Las Vegas Wrestling club and over Adrian Rinas of the Mat Rat Wrestling Club; Yi pinned Ryan Hernandez of the IEWA Veterans.
