Lopez Wins Triple Crown

David Lopez, a sophomore at Folsom High School, won the prestigious Triple Crown Award at the Sacramento Area Wrestling Association (SAWA) Individual Championships held on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Competing at 130 pounds, Lopez won first place medals in free-style, Greco Roman, and folk-style wrestling brackets. Individuals winning gold medals in the three different styles of wrestling earned themselves the Triple Crown Award. For the day, Lopez won 13 straight matches without a single defeat. This is the second year in a row that a Mad Dawg wrestler came home with the Triple Crown. Senior, Mason Roush, also from Folsom High School, won it all last year as well.
