Desinee Lopez Wins Two State Championships

Desinee Lopez, a sophomore at Folsom High School, captured two state titles by winning the Cadet Girls Division at 117 lbs. on Saturday and followed that up with another State Championship by going up an age division to Juniors to take home the first place bear trophy on Sunday as well. Lopez won the cadet division in dominating fashion, winning by technical fall over every opponent she faced. She nearly did the same in Junior division by technical fall in every match leading up to the finals before coming away with a win in a close match for her second championship. By winning both divisions, Lopez has now qualified for Freestyle Nationals in both age groups and will be heading to Fargo, ND this summer to try and become a Freestyle All-American and National Champion.
